Breaking into Hollywood is a dream shared by many young actors these days. It’s a dream that
Adrian Kali Turner has had for most of his young life, and one that he is now seeing come true right
before his eyes. Adrian’s recent performance in the summer 2011 box office hit, BAD TEACHER,
helped the film bring in over $200 Million!

I Am Entertainment Kids & Teens caught up with this young star on the rise and got a chance to
chat with him about his career and what’s next.

IAE:         Where are you from and how old were you when you first started acting?
AKT:
I’m originally from Maryland, but I grew up in Georgia. I got into this workshop a few years ago and
got to audition for some agents. Then I came out to LA and started going out on lots of auditions.

IAE:         What was your first big TV or Film job?
AKT:
My first big TV job was at the Kids Choice Awards, and I got to slime Mandy Moore and shared the
stage with Ice Cube and Ty Pennington from EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER which was really cool.

IAE:         You have seen success in both Film and TV, which one is your favorite out of the two?
AKT:
I like them both. But TV sets have the best food. I loved iCarly because the craft services lady made
fresh cookies right there on set. [laughs] But I also like movies too because you get to go on set and do your
part and then you move on to the next role and character.

IAE:         You were in the recent film BAD TEACHER and had an argument with Jason Segel over
LeBron James and Michael Jordan. That is one of the most highly televised and memorable TV
promos I’ve seen this year. How did it feel to keep seeing your face on that promo and how much
fun was it filming that movie?
AKT:
I was shocked that I was in the trailer and it was so cool. It caught me off guard. My friends were
asking me if that was really me on the commercial and I said “yes, it was.” They really thought that was cool.

IAE:         Can you tell us a little bit filming ABC’s new series, APARTMENT 23, as well as AMC’s THE
WALKING DEAD in the summer in Atlanta?
AKT:
On APARTMENT 23 I play this kid who is having experiments being done on him by the main
characters boyfriend who is a scientist/student. On THE WALKING DEAD, OMG it was so hot! Those blood,
sweat, and tears were real. [laughs] I lived in Georgia and so I know the heat, but on set it was 10 times hotter.
The zombies had to keep from sweating off their makeup. But it was a lot of fun.

IAE:         So do you attend regular school?
AKT:
I’ve been homeschooled most of my life, but since moving to Los Angeles it’s changed. I’ll be
attending a performing arts school, which will be cool.

IAE:         What words of wisdom or advice for other young actors out there?
AKT:
Stick with it, because if you love it and it’s your passion, you’re going to work as hard as you can to
succeed in it. I had times when I didn’t book anything for a year, but I still stuck with it because I love it.

IAE:         What’s your favorite color?
AKT:
I like both blue and green.

IAE:         What’s your favorite type of food?
AKT:
I like Thai food and my favorite dish is Pad See Ew.

IAE:         What’s your favorite TV show?
AKT:
My favorite TV show is COMMUNITY.
