The Gospel Music Association (GMA) held their press conference today at The Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta to announce the 43rd Annual
Dove Awards nominees. The nominees were announced by Daytime EMMY nominated comedian Chonda Pierce, GRAMMY nominated R&B
artist Montell Jordan (best known for his iconic hit, "This Is How We Do It), GRAMMY nominated CCM artist Jamie-Grace and World Heavyweight
Champion wrestler AJ Styles.
The 43rd Annual Dove Awards will be held in Atlanta on April 19, 2012 at the fabulous Fox Theatre to honor some of Christian music's top
recording artists. This year marks the 2nd year GMA will hold the event at the Fox, thanks to the success of 2011's sold-out show which pulled in
an amazing 1.5 million viewers on the Gospel Music Channel.
Tickets for the April 19th event are on sale now via TicketMaster.com ; prices range from $45 to $225.
GMA's Executive Director, Jackie Patillo, kicked off the press conference followed by the amazingly funny Chonda Pierce who, took the reigns and
introduced each of her fellow announcers for today. In addition to helping announce the nominees, 2012 Dove Awards' New Artist of the Year
Nominee, Jamie-Grace, performed her hit single "Hold Me," live with her sister, Morgan Harper-Nichols, who played the guitar.
After the performance, the floor was opened up for press interviews (see below).
