Volume 1, Issue 2
Outdoors, THE THRASHERS are rehearsing, recording, and playing live events. Armed with a great deal of
talent and an amazing ear for rock n roll music, Nick, Chris, Charles, Geddy and Brandon comprise this band of
9 year old Rock sensations who are destined to hit the top.

Having played over 20 live shows, and currently in pre-production for their debut CD, at only 9 years old, these
young rockers took the time out of their thrashing to speak with IAE.

IAE: So tell us who you are and what instruments you play?
THRASHERS: I’m Nick and I play the bass and sing leads. I’m Charley and I play rhythm guitar, I’m Chris and I
play the drums, I’m Geddy and I play lead guitar, Brandon plays the keyboard, but he’s not here. He’s at
Disneyland.

IAE: Where are you guys from and how did you meet?
NICK: We’re from Pacifica, California (The Bay Area). Well, four of us grew up together in the same day care
center and when we got bigger we were good at music so we decided to make a band. After that we got a little
older so we went to a rock camp and we found another band member.

IAE: So how did you come up with the name of the band?
CHARLES: Well, we were making up all of these band names and then Brandon’s dad came up with a name
called The Thrashers, and we liked it.

IAE: Do you guys have a manager or are your parents your managers?
GEDDY: Yes we do have a manager; Kamp Kaos.

IAE: What other bands do you like?
GEDDY: As a band we like AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica.
CHRIS: And for drummers I like Ringo Starr, Danny Carey and Buddy Rich- Oh, and Neil Peart!

IAE: Who writes the songs you guys sing?
CHARLES: Nick, who is our bass player in the band.

IAE: How many times have you performed as a band in front of bands?
NICK: Um, 20! Yea, that’s how many we have done.

IAE: What’s your favorite song to perform?
THRASHERS: “Soldier” or maybe “Graves.”

IAE: How many times each week do you practice?
GEDDY: About six times a week.

IAE: Are you guys rock stars at school?
NICK: Our teacher, on Halloween, he dressed up as a Thrasher. He had on our T-Shirt and bandanna, and he
had a ‘Guitar Hero’ guitar.

IAE: When do you start recording your album in the studio?
THRASHERS: Next weekend. We are going to record our songs in the studio and put them on CD. Brent Turner
and Joel Jaffe are producing it for us. Brent runs Kamp Kaos.

IAE: So what are some of the things you want to do as a band? Do you want to be on a TV show or a
tour, or even on a movie?
NICK: I’ll take this one (laughs). We want to do a tour and a TV show and some movies too. That’s what we
want to do.
