If the Lilith Fair was still going, Katie Garibaldi, would be the perfect fit in the line-up.
She can hold her own next to Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, and Lisa Loeb. Next Ride
Out is her 6th album release, and she’s opens up her heart and gives you raw
emotions on life and love. I’d wish that Top 40 had more variety because she deserves
some radio spins.
“A Love Without Chains,” sounds like something that Sheryl Crow would have done
earlier in her career. There a few moments when Katie sings off key but it doesn’t
really take away from the song.
I find “Went Too Far (Foot In My Mouth),” rather amusing because I think everyone has
had a moment where they wished they could take back what was said. The song is
easy to sing along with and I’m sure you’ll recall the lyrics when and if you have a
moment like this again.
Overall, the album production, lyrics, and singing work well together and it’s easy
listening. It’s a nice change from what’s on the radio at the moment and I hope Katie is
able to leave her mark in this world.
MUSICAL GOAL: “My general ultimate goal for my music is for it to be heard and to
affect people in a positive way by sharing my music with them. Each year, I have mini-
goals to help build on my main objective, which include recording new music, touring
the country, and making my music available for listeners online and via other media.”–
