Rebecca Hosking is bringing Country / Bluegrass music back. She has been working
as a songwriter in Nashville for years and serves as the Creative Director for
Tennessee Songwriter’s Association, which solidifies how married to the craft she is.
The title track, “Love and Other Disasters,” is a fun banjo driven track. Rebecca
sounds great on this song. She sends out a warning that she’s staying away from love
and other disasters because she doesn’t want to be taken up in the clouds only to
come crashing down.
The storytelling in “Last Chance Café,” is probably one of her best on the album. Each
verse talks about two individuals living with regret over some of life’s choices but in the
hook she explains that, “it’s never too late to turn things around at the last chance
café.”
I think this album brings healing to those who have lost love or have a broken soul.
She may not be the greatest vocalist, but she certainly is a very good songwriter and
this album is worth listening to.
MUSICAL GOAL: “I started out as a songwriter and just recently been promoting myself
as an artist. Ultimately I want my music to entertain. I tell stories I want people to listen
and walk away thinking yeah I been there and done that and I know exactly what she
means! :o)”– Rebecca Hosking
