Anyone who says Jazz music is for elderly people clearly has not heard Jeff Fairbanks'
Project Hansori. Upon hearing the 17-piece Jazz orchestra of Jeff Fairbanks and this
new sub-genre called Asian Jazz, I was instantly a fan. What an incredible 'Mulberry
Street' is, and what an awesome display of creativity and musical genius.

As a fan of the big band music of the 30s & 40s, 'Mulberry Street Part II" is my favorite
because it's so huge. This tune massages the mind and really gives the ears a real
dose of delight. One listen and I bet you'll be prepared to spend your money on it.

Another awesome, but tune is "San Ma Da" because of how brilliantly the orchestra
fuses the trombone and other horns with the Asian stringed instrumentation. Its an
awesome piece of music that oozes with class and modesty. You'll surely enjoy this one
if you have an affinity for great Jazz music.

With so many great songs to offer, I urge you to go buy this album, you won't regret it.

MUSICAL GOAL: "A) Establish new sub-genre called Asian Jazz. I'd like it to be widely
recognized as a sub-genre of Jazz, much like the recognition of Latin Jazz. While
attempting to fuse elements of traditional Asian folk music and contemporary Jazz, I've
found the challenge is to both make the result sound like a natural fit, and to maintain
the integrity of the original influences. I see Latin Jazz as a successful fusion model
and would like to recreate that sub-genre's success, both artistically and commercially.
B) Develop a young Jazz audience and bring new Jazz into mainstream
C) Correct the popular misconception that the ability to play certain styles of music is
dependent on one's genes. My blend of Jazz and Asian folk music --far from my own
ethnic heritage-- will serve, I hope, as an example that musical skill is learned, not
inherited (i.e., the biological argument “Nature vs. Nurture”)." - Jeff Fairbanks
