If you've been looking for a band that will rock your world in 2012, let The Hawkeyes give
you a reason to feel rocked. Affectionately known as, "Pittsburgh's Prodigal Sons," The
Hawkeyes come home to the world of music and headline their own welcome back party.
On their debut EP, The Hawkeyes give us a taste of Mellencamp with their awesome
song, "7 & A Quarter". The songs is a classic rock hit and is begging to be put into heavy
rotation on rock stations all over America. From the songwriting to the overall production
of the track, this tune is a great example of why we love rock bands and the music they
make. If you're not up on this one, you should give it a listen. I'm sure you'll be glad you
did.
With their EP, THE HAWKEYES have put themselves in a position to be considered
among some of the top classic rock bands, easily drawing comparisons to the likes of
REO Speedwagon and the aforementioned, John Mellencamp. The Hawkeyes could
someday be one of those classic bands who will be remembered for generations.
MUSICAL GOAL: "We really want to be a successful touring/recording band
representing the working class. I think our brand of straightforward rock n roll has a
definitive place in today's fractured musical scene and we feel that it's time for a band
from the Pittsburgh area gets its due - sort of how Springsteen and Bon Jovi are known
as NJ boys or how Mellencamp represented Indiana and the farming community. We are
the working middle class rust bucket remains of the steel industry and I think our music
paints a picture of that ideal." - The Hawkeyes
