Sheena Grier is a pretty hot artist coming out of Philly, aka "The City of Brotherly Love".
As a former Philly resident, I know how tough its residents are on music so I knew that
Sheena had to possess a good amount of talent. On her EP, THE PRECURSER, Sheena
takes us through the mind of a Philly queen poised to take over Hip-Hop/R&B.

"Youngboul", is my favorite track from Sheena. This song is a very aggressive joint that
depicts a mature female who checks the young dudes about the art of speaking to a
veteran queen. The vocal performance is hot on this one and the beat is a club banger
laced with that kick drum knock and crazy flutes that remind me of Nas' song "Oochie
Wally". This track has definite Billboard Hot 100 chart potential.

Sheena's tracks come together to make one heck of a Hip-Hop R&B project, and I
definitely think she's got the potential to reach worldwide audience with her music. It's not
easy being an R&B artist in the urban music industry these days, with Hip-Hop having
such a strong presence that it drowns out the R&B singers who share the same
audience. But Sheena can hold her own and I have no doubt that there is plenty of room
in the Hip-Hop R&B/Soul female category next to Mary J Blige and Beyonce. I'd
recommend checking out Sheena Grier's music if you're a fan of this genre.
