Listening to Starry Night by Ike Moriz has me wishing it were Christmas all over again!
The love in the air, spending time with family and friends and celebrating life is what it’s
all about. He’s managed to add all of my favorites on this project. Ike delights with holiday
classics from ‘Silent Night’ to ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’. His smooth, silky vocals
are reminiscent of a modern day Nat King Cole or Fred Astaire’s classic styles.
One of my favorite tracks is the opener, ‘Most Wonderful Time of the Year’. There’s no
better way to express the magic that surrounds the holidays than this song. I enjoy the
fullness and excitement in his voice. The cheer seems to radiate from his lips. Mr. Moriz
gives a pretty snazzy rendition of the classic on this album.
‘Let It Snow’ takes me right back to the warmth of loved ones near, holiday traditions and
just full hearts all around. Another favorite is one of his original songs, ‘Peace Dream’. I
love the South African drums and instrumentation here. The use of the choir takes it to
another level. It has a great message and is the perfect ending for this album. Ike’s
flawless vocals and ability to elicit the perfect ambiance on each song is simply
magnificent. I’m very impressed with his body of work. He’s done swing/jazz, pop/rock to
jazz standards. I’ve found my Christmas album for 2012!
