Electronica is an underappreciated genre that is often overlooked by much of the
mainstream music world as not being worthy of market share. But after crafting music for
such clients as Walt Disney Pictures, New Line Cinema, and top gaming companies like
Electronic Arts (EA), Denmaster Studios producer, Andrew Lein, is proving the
mainstream wrong.
After listening to Denmaster's latest project, Dub Stepping, I couldn't understand the logic
behind mainstream's dismissal of such creativity. Songs like "Get Down", "Denmaster
Dropping", and "Whales Underwater and Outerspace" are proof that electronica is an
artform that requires a great deal of talent and creativity. To hear and marry notes
together that don't seem like they'd match, and blend them in such a way that doesn't
make your ears bleed takes a serious ear for pitch and note variations that not very
many musicians or music producers have.
Denmaster mashes sound effects with various traditional instruments and synths to
create an eclectic breed of electronic music that could only be appreciated by the listener
who thinks outside the box of mainstream Top 40 music. If you're a fan of any "normal"
genres of music like rock, pop, hip-hop and country, then Denmaster's music will likely
throw you for a loop and all you'll hear is noise. But for the listener who is fascinated by
the bending of sounds and the twisted logic of adventure game soundtracks, Denmasters
mashups will be highly respected and admired.
MUSICAL GOAL: "To bring electronica to the masses and change the world for the
better.” - Denmaster Studios
