CONTEST RULES:

1) Each contestant will submit a Short film script (see #8 below). Maximum of 2 scripts per contestant.
Work must be registerd with either the US Copyright Office or Writers Guild of America.  All scripts must be
unproduced, unoptioned, and wholly original works of the writer(s).  There must be no dispute about the ownership
of submitted scripts or the writers’ right to submit.

2) By submitting, you agree to the “Release Form” below, and to abide by all of these Official Contest Rules.

3) Scripts by more than one writer are eligible, but only one prize will be given and it will be the writers’
responsibility to distribute their prize. The writer who signs up for contest will be the person who will receive the
prize distribution. Neither IAE Magazine, nor any of its affiliates or sponsors will be responsible for any disputes
between any writers as a result of this contest.

4) All entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Under age writers must be at least 16 years old and submitted by
their parent or guardian, who must be present and visible in their child’s video submission.

5) Writers of submitted scripts must not have earned more than $25,000 (in cash or other consideration) for writing
services for film or television in the three years prior to the opening date of this contest. Furthermore, writers must
not have won a fellowship or writing contest that includes a “first look” clause in the 3 years prior to the opening
date of this contest.

6) All submissions must be made electronically via the contest online entry form on IAE’s website, or via email to
contest@iaemagazine.com. Emailed submissions should be a scanned copy of your signed “The Write Way”
Entry Form.

7) Submissions will not be accepted by anyone who has not completed an entry form and paid the contest fee.

8) All script submissions must be in Adobe PDF format. Rich Text Format (RTF) and Microsoft Word (.doc) and
other word processor formats are specifically forbidden. THE FILE MUST HAVE A TITLE PAGE and the page must
be the first page of the PDF file. Scripts must be in English, the pages numbered, and name of writer(s) and
contact information on the title page. Font must be 12-point Courier or Courier New. Scripts must be between 5
and 30 pages long.

9) Employees or immediate family members of principals of IAE or Write Brothers Inc do not qualify.

10) NO REFUNDS FOR FAILURE TO ADHERE TO RULES. Failure to adhere to these Official Contest Rules will
result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee.

11) Judging will be performed by working film professionals who will determine who the 3 finalists are. Finalists will
have their scripts submitted to top film industry companies and the top screenplays chosen will be announced on
the announcement dates posted on the Contest Rules web page. The Judges’ picks will be final.

12) Entry fees are nonrefundable. If a script is submitted and then edited after the initial submission, the second
version cannot and will not be substituted for the first version. The author may submit it as an additional entry with
the applicable entry fee.

13) Only two (2) scripts allowed per entry form, per writer or group of writers. Also see #12 above.

15) The official prize list is posted on the web page

of prizes is the official list. This prize list is subject to revision until the official closing date of the contest in the
“Submission Deadlines and Entry Fees” listing at
http://www.iaemagazine.com/writeway/rules.html.

16) The Write Way Screenplay Contest may substitute alternative prizes of equal or greater value in place of
previously announced prizes.

17) Writers can only qualify to win one of the three prizes, regardless of the number of different scripts submitted.
Anyone caught using an alias or alternate name to qualify for multiple prizes will be disqualified.

18) All winners will be responsible for paying their own U.S. Income tax, if any. Winners not residing in the U.S.
may be subject to shipping costs.

19) The copy of the rules posted at
http://www.iaemagazine.com/writeway/rules.html is the only official copy of the
contest rules. Any paragraph of any other copy of the rules which differs from this copy is void to the extent that it
differs from this copy.

WINNER NOTIFICATIONS
Barring delays (which can happen), 5 finalists will be notified and posted on the website within 30 days
after the contest closes.  Barring delays, the 3 winners will be chosen no later than 15 days after that.  
So if there were no delays and no extensions, the announcement dates would be approximately:

Finalists announced by October 7, 2010
Final Prize Distribution, October 22, 2010
If the contest were to be extended two weeks, add two weeks to the above.
